Fifteen vehicles carrying 225 litres of country made liquor were held up by the 39th Assam Rifles personals who were under ROP at Loitang Khunou on January 24 and latter handed over to AMADA Mayai Loisang.
The statement issued by secretary publicity & propaganda AMADA Mayai Loisang, PH Abe Chanu said, the vehicles while trying to make their way from Sekmai were frisked and on finding the liquor being loaded inside the vehicles the 39th Assam Rifles personnel posted at Loitang Khunou Spining Mill apprehended them together with liquor.
On the following day the seized liquor were set on fire at LKSU football ground in the presence of 39th Assam Fifles' Commandant Col Bikramjit Singh and Major S Acharya Coy, the statement said and added that Singh donated Rs 1000 to AMADA towards its drive against the abuse of drugs in the State.
