Medical Superintendent of JN Hospital, Imphal Dr W Motilal Singh has sought action against three doctors of the hospital who failed to turn up for duty last night.
In an official written to Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Motilal informed that three medical officers namely Dr Romola Devi, Dr Swaparani Devi and Dr Usha Kiran, who were enlisted in the casualty night duty roster on October 22 did not turn up till 9.30 pm.
Since many patients landed at the Casualty, Dr K Gunabanta Singh and he himself did the duty whole night and two patients expired at 10.15 pm and 11.55 pm respectively, Dr Motilal said, adding that negligence of duty on the part of the.
three delinquent doctors is a heinous crime in the light of medical ethics and appealed for taking up stern action against the irresponsible medical officers.
Meanwhile according to information received by the press, the two deceased persons have been identified as Md Jahuruddin (28) and Chajangmei Golmei (29) of Thangmeiband.
