HCC JV wins order worth Rs 1,114 crore from State

Mumbai, February 23 2016:
Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC), in a joint venture with Vensar Constructions Company Ltd (VCCL), has been awarded Rs 1114 crore contract by the Public Works Department (PWD) of Government of Manipur.
The HCC share in the joint venture is 73%, which is Rs 813 crore.
The project is to be completed in 42 months.
The contract is for construction of lmphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong highway, which is a part of Asian Highway No 1.This project is backed by Asian Development Bank.
This part of the highway starts at Imphal city and ends at Tamenglong covering a total length of 111 kms.
Commenting on winning the new order, Arun Karambelkar, President & CEO- E&C, HCC Ltd said, "HCC is proud to receive the order from the Manipur Government for this prestigious road project, which will provide impetus to the socio-economic development of the State.
This order is strong attestation of HCC's delivery in infrastructure.
HCC with its sound engineering expertise and committed team is all set to leverage the opportunities in the infrastructure space" .
The lmphal-Kangchup-Tamenglong highway provides shortest connectivity from Manipur to "East West Corridor'' of the NHAI.
The highway will also reduce the distance from Guwahati to Imphal by at least 90 kms as compared to the existing route via Dimapur.
The highway passes through districts of West Imphal and Tamenglong connecting major settlements of Imphal, Kangchup, Haochong, Bhalok and Tamenglong.
