Lighting of ceremonial candles and presentation of simple gifts marked the 12th foundation day celebration of Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) held today at its head office in RDS High School (Konung Mamang) premises.
The foundation anniversary celebration was held in the presence of MSF founder president Udoi Luwang, and former presidents T Parijat, Ph Nando Luwang, Y Dhakeshwor, Dr Kh Gourachandra, S Sanjoy, Dr Ch Rupachandra, Md Atabuddin and L Ibomcha as the presidium members.
Speaking as a special invitee, Irabot Foundation president Th Iboyaima expressed remorse that present day Manipur is plagued by various impediments with the ever increasing unemployment issue being the chief contributory factor to the problems.
Observing that owing to growing number of unemployment problem many well educated youths are deviating from the right path, the special invitee called upon all concerned to contribute their mite in pulling away the future generation from the path of self-destruction.
Further pointing that out of frustration many youngsters are resorting to drug abuse and consequently stealing to meet their daily dose of drug and other harmful substance, Iboyaima advocated that rooting out corruption should be accorded top priority by every citizen.
Opining that excessive use of mobile phones by the younger generation, particularly the student community, is having adverse impact on the society as many school/colleges students are indulging in wasteful ventures, he also desired that student bodies, including MSF take the initiative in stopping use of mobile phones at schools and colleges.
