Turning his attention to transport infrastructure and other development works being taken up in Thoubal district, Works Minister K Ranjit made an inspection tour of the stretch of NH 39 in Thoubal district and the mini-Secretariat complex yesterday.
The Minister also made personal inspection of the bailey bridge being constructed over Thoubal river to connect Thoubal and Mayang Imphal and the ongoing repairing work of the Kakching bridge.
Later the Works Minister and his team including Tribal Development and Scheduled Caste Minister DD Thaisii, MLAs E Dwijamani and Dr U Deven were accorded a warm reception by the Representatives of Lois at Kakching Chumnang.
Speaking on the occasion, TD Minister DD Thaisii stated that a residential school for scheduled caste students will be established at Kakching.
He also assured all possible assistance to ensure welfare schemes due to the people.
K Ranjit assured that the New Market of Kakching will be developed soon with financial assistance from the Ministry of Urban Development while disclosing that Rs 23 lakhs will be sanctioned for construction of drains and roads around Kakching town.
He informed that a hot mix plant has been arranged for development of the road from Pallel Lamkhai to Chakpikarong while adding that a bridge will also be built over Sekmai river in Kakching near Leirak Hiden.
The Works Minister also inspected the condition of roads within Mayang Imphal constituency today.
Today's inspection tour of K Ranjit was accompanied by YAS Minister N Biren, Information Minister TN Haokip, MLAs E Dwijamani and Dr K Ratankumar.
A reception function of the ministerial team was organised at Laphupat Tera Mayai Leikai.
