Need sincere efforts to ensure BJP secure absolute majority: M Bhorot

Imphal, September 27 2021: Former BJP State unit president and former MLA of Thangmeiband AC, M Bhorot has said that sincere and diligent effort by party workers will be key for BJP to secure absolute majority and retain power.

Bhorot made the statement while attending a "Seva Aur Samarpan" campaign being organised to celebrate PM Narendra Modi's 71st Birthday held at Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai community hall today.

Ward No 3 booth committee members were also reached out with free rice during the programme organised by the BJP Thangmeiband Mandal.

Attending the function as the chief guest, M Bhorot underlined the importance of party workers and supporters to help ensure BJP secure an unprecedented win in the forthcoming General Election.

As long as party workers keep working sincerely at ground level, BJP will be able to be at the helm of governance once again, he remarked while urging the workers to believe in themselves and not to cheat upon themselves.

One has to shun selfishness in order to serve people fully as service without dedication will remain incomplete, he said.

Asserting that Thangmeiband AC representatives have been in Opposition for nearly 20 years, he called upon people of the Assembly segment to support the BJP candidate and help usher in development in the Assembly segment.

Jotin Waikhom, State BJP executive member, who was also part of the programme said that BJP is targeting to win 40 MLA seats off the total 60 in the State Assembly and exuded confidence that BJP will secure not less than 35 seats.

As the BJP Government's return is imminent, the people of Thangmeiband AC should elect a BJP candidate and help him being a part of the Government, he urged.

Maintaining that a person who has no political principle and keeps shifting his allegiance from time to time will do no good for the Assembly segment, Jotin also appealed to people to think twice and chose the right person as their representative this time.
