Imphal, September 13 2020:
The Hill Districts Private Schools' Association Manipur (HiDiPSAM) has expressed disappointment at the 'lackadaisical' attitude of the Education Department in resolving the long-standing private school's tuition fee- salary issue.
A press release issued by HiDiPSAM said that with the enforcement of the lop-sided orders of the Commissioner (Education-Schools), dated 20 June 2020, private school teachers and authorities have been bearing the brunt.
Ever since its enactment, HiDiPSAM has been repeatedly requesting the State Government and the Department concerned to revoke the crude orders which smack of immaturity, it said and appealed to the Education Department to observe how neighbouring NE-states are successfully dealing with the issue.
While the state Education Department seems to view the orders as an act of triumph, it has unfortunately revealed the sad lacuna in the state Education Department.
Saying that the association has suspended all forms of agitation against the 'unjust' orders in the interest of hill students, the association added that they have decided to resume its agitation from September 17.The association also thanked the tribal student bodies for their sincere efforts in trying to resolve this tuition fee-salary issue.
If the Government fails to review the said order and come out with another which is acceptable to the three stakeholders, all private schools in the hills of Manipur will shut down from September 17 to 21, it added.
The association further informed that the agitation will be intensified after September 21 if the Education Department does not respond positively.
HiDiPSAM also appealed to all parents and students concerned to cooperate with them.
