The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to undergraduate medical courses was held today in different centres of the State today under strict measures in view of COVID-19.The examination was held at different centres including RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Pangei, Ram Lal Paul School, Keishamthong etc.
Candidates were screened for COVID-19 symptoms using thermal scanners before entering the centres.
They wore face masks and hand-gloves.
Only one student was allowed to sit per bench and a gap of two benches between two candidates was maintained, said students after the examination.
It may be noted that the National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducts the NEET (UG) examination had increased the number of examination centres this year in view of COVID-19.Nearly 16 lakh candidates registered for the entrance examination for admission to MBBS/BDS courses and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognised medical and dental institutions in India.
The examination was conducted today after it was postponed twice due to COVID-19 pandemic.
