Imphal, September 13 2020:
Sensing the growing differences amongst the same section of society, International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) has expressed the need to instil moral values and love towards the homeland to the growing generation.
IPAK, in a statement, said that it is high time the State Government stresses on incorporating lessons at every level of education that will inculcate moral values and re-ignite the love and feeling towards the State.
Urging the State Government to formulate plans to promote vocational education to produce skilled craftsmen and encourage self reliance, IPSA said that overdependence on products from outside is ruining the State.
IPSA has been actively organising cultural programmes at places across the globe where Manipuris reside and have been imparting knowledge of activities related to culture including, thang-ta, dance etc., it said while stressing the need for organising similar programmes frequently.
A race or a society without culture is a society without its sheen, said IPSA while urging everyone to take it seriously in preserving the rich cultural heritage of the State.
The rampant trafficking of narcotic substances even during the lockdown is nothing but indicative of a well planned narrative to slowly ruin the society, said IPSA.
Asserting that people will hardly hear the real owners of seized narcotics items being traced or booked, IPSA went on to say that there is nexus of many high profile personalities in these illicit trade and further appealed authorities in the judicial system dealing with the drug related matters to be very mindful in handling the issue and seek befitting punishment of all found to be involved.
IPSA also reiterated its stand on the undergoing delimitation work, saying that they will never accept the exercise based on faulty census data.
The association will encourage delimitation conducted only on true data and procedures, it said.
With the Naga issue settlement looming large, IPSA reminded the Indian Government that the association, along with the State people, will stand against any divisive outcome resulting from it.
