Foundation Day of Manipur Hindi Parishad

The 59th foundation day of Manipur Hindi Parishad was observed at its hall this afternoon.
President of the Parishad Anoubam Binodchandra, Manipur Sahitya Parishad president Prof Elangbam Dinamani and Hindi Teachers Training College president Dr Meinam Achoubi graced the function as president, chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
After the ceremonial lamp was lit by Prof E Dinamani, the gathering paid tributes to the late founders and members of the Parishad.
A new website manipurhindiparishad.com was also launched on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, general secretary of the Parishad Dr S Lanchenba Meitei said that there are around 46 schools that teach Hindi in Manipur.
The Parishad's aim is not only teaching Hindi and conducting exams, it is also the objective of the Parishad to promote both Hindi and Manipuri literature, Lanchenba said.
Prof Ibohal Singh said that Hindi is one language that has overcome the barriers of multilingual country like India.
