Senapati, December 04 2016:
The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills and CSOs Sadar Hills including KSO yesterday conducted a spot inquiry of the proposed site for the construction of National Sports University at Koutruk L Tangnaum village, after L Tangnaum Village Authority filed a petition to Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, our correspondent reports.
The team including Kuki Inpi Twilang Lhang, Kuki Inpi Gunhom Lhang and KSO Sadar Hills led by Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills visited the disputed land of Koutruk and L Tangnaum village and collected the ground reports.
They reviewed official documents and facts while conducting an in-depth interaction with the neighbouring chiefs over the disputed land.
CSOs Sadar Hills convener and Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills general secretary N Sehjalien Gangte said that apart from various facts verbally established from the neighbouring village chiefs, the officials' documents and facts including an official sketch map clearly indicates that the land legitimately belongs to L Tangnaum village and there is no reason for a dispute over the land.
He said the dispute could have been prevented had the Government acted in accordance with the facts.
The CSOs Sadar Hills and Kuki Inpi further asked the motive of BJP in installing the National Sports University in such disputed land which can create communal tension among different communities.
The CSOs have urged the Koutruk people to go through the facts and maintain calm and serenity in the area.
"We do not oppose the project of National Sports University and we are not against it but the issue of the land offered for the project should first be settled amicably or the plan to construct the sports varsity in such disputed land should be aborted", N Sehjalien Gangte said.
The Kuki Inpi and CSOs Sadar Hills also urges Koutruk villagers and the concerned authority to remove the welcome banner at the earliest and stop unsuitable activities in the land so as to ensure communal harmony.
