'Centre likely to announce Chief Ministerial candidate soon'

Centre has expressed desire to announce party's Chief Ministerial candidate for the State Assembly election, said Dr Sougaijam Priyokumar.
Speaking to mediapersons at his residence located at Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leikai, senior member of BJP, Manipur Dr Sougaijam Priyokumar said, "A parliamentary board with Prime Minister as the chairman will minutely discuss the matter and announce the Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming election.
I believe we will soon get the information."

"BJP in Centre has acknowledged my loyalty and appreciated my contribution to the party," he said and added that the Centre has asked him to start preparing to contest in the upcoming State Assembly election. Dr Priyokumar said that ever since BJP came to power at the Centre, the party has changed tremendously and said, "I am pleased to learn that I am among the members of the party in the North East who have been acknowledged for their loyalty and contribution to the party" .
State's analytical report and political and cultural background data were submitted to the Union Ministers who visited the State in order to take up various welfare initiatives, he said and went on to informed that even Union Minister of Human Resource and Development Prakash Javadekar during his recent visit in the State told him to contest in the Assembly election from Yaiskul AC and has been offered to play a role of mediation between the young members and seasoned politicians of the party.
He said that the Centre is leaving no stone unturned to boost the relation with the people and help BJP, Manipur Pradesh form the next Government in the State.
The press conference was also attended by T Goujadou, executive member, BJP, Manipur Pradesh, N Solomon of Phungyar AC, Henry Paotei of Karong AC, Tongmang Haokip of Saitu AC, BJP, Lily Haokip, president of Sadar Hills Mahila and BJP, Manipur Pradesh active members M Prakash and O Romen.
