The Zeliangrong Union, (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) President G Patrick is all set to enter politics by contesting in the forth coming Nagaland Assembly of February 26.Sources said that he current Zeliangrong President who hails from Keishamthong, Imphal would contest in Dimapur part II Assembly Constituency in Rashtriya Janata Dal ticket.
Patrick Golmei who had already settled in Dimapur for many years had succeeded Jangeimlung Panmei of Tamenglong as a Zeliangrong President in 1999.the sources said the G Partick has so far not tender his resignation to the Zeliangrong Union as yet, but it is expected that he may do so in few days time.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland Journalists� body, Press Corps of Nagaland (PCN) has decided to boycott any Organization both undergrounds and civil bodies which intimidate or threaten and even interfere the duties of the journalist.
The PCN Vice President Keid Haralu in a strong worded statement has maintained that he media is no longer an archaic, frail and voiceless institution which can be intimidated by a handful of �Neanderthals� who think they can rule the streets by the barrel of a gun.
This press note has been prompted by the recent incident when a staff reporter of a local paper was kidnapped by some unidentified gunmen and threatened to kill him for filing a story regarding the busting of an arms racket in Dimapur.
