Demanding cancellation of the back door appointment of Committee Officer in complete violation of the recruitment rules, Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat LDA's/UDA's/Assistant Welfare Association has threatened to go for cease work strike and other intense form of agitation with effect from October 21 if the demand is not comply with.
Announcing this during a press conference held at its Old Checkon office this afternoon, Association president Sanachouba asser-ted that the appointment order of one Konthoujam Mamata as a Committee Officer in the Manipur Assembly Secretariat should be cancelled at once as it had been done through back door in complete violation of the recruitment rules.
The said post was also meant for SC/ST, he added.
He pointed out that out of the total existing posts of six officers in the Assembly Secretariat, four are Committee Officers and two are Section Officers and all the incumbents belong to general category.
But as per the RR, there should be in all seven officers including two ST and one SC.
Moreover, there are many eligible employees who fulfil the required RR and can be appointed as Committee Officer /Section Officer, he said, adding their cases should have been considered sympathetically.
Denial of promotion on seniority basis, discrimination attitude and favouritism among the employees by the authority concerned is condemnable, he said.
While informing that an ultimatum had also been served to the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly highlighting the grievances of the employees on October 9, Sanachouba warned that the aggrieved employees would be constraint to go for cease work strike and other intense form of agitation if the authority concerned do cancel the appointment order of Mamata and take up other necessary measures to redress other grievances.
