A two day consultation programme on "National Policy on Voluntary Sector 2008" will be held at 1st Bn Manipur Rifles banquet hall on May 7 and 8 under the joint aegis of Voluntary Action Network India (VANI), Mass Education, Kolkata and All Manipur NGOs Forum, Imphal.
Briefing media persons about the scheduled consultation programme at Manipur Press Club here today, VANI working committee member Sukumar Singh informed following the approval of the National Policy on Voluntary Sector on May 17 last year by the Government of India, VANI has organised consultation programmes on the same policy in different parts of the country.
The scheduled consultation programme at Imphal is the first for the North East region.
Around 200 different voluntary organisations have been invited to the consultation programme, Sukumar said.
Experts from Jharkhand and Delhi will speak on the policy.
The basic purpose of the programme is to formulate State policy compatible to the National policy after deliberating the policy thoroughly, he said.
Delegates interested to participate in the programme may register themselves at the Imphal office of VANI located at Keishampat on May 5 and 6, he added.
