141st Raja Dumbra Birth Anniv observed

Th 141st Birth Anniversary of Raja Dumbra was observed today at the Gopinath Mandir at Purana Rajbari Nongmeibung.
The observation function was organised by the Raja Dumbra Singh Memorial Memorial Trust.
Social Activist Th Iboyaima and Legal Advisor of Raja Dumbra Singh Memorial Trust Advocate Rarry graced the function as Chief Guest and President respectively.
RK Ranjan also attended as Guest of Honour.
Secretary of the trust said that the birth anniversary was observed unite the descendants of the late Dumbra and translated his wishes into action.
A school with his name which located at the colony is a must for the honour and respect of the late activist.
But it is unfortunate for the state government to pull down the school to construct a super market.
Fortnately the Civil Judge No 2 Manipur East in an order staued the order of the state government to pull down the school, following the promt action of the trust who filed a case to the court, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Th Iboyaima said that the late Dumbra was a social activist who dedicated his life in helping the poor and needy.
He was an ideal person for the people of the state.
He took active role in constructing the school to provide better education to the children.
Moreover, Ukabi which the people of Manipur relish as a delicacies in dishes was first introduced by the late activist from outside the state, he said while adding that today's generation should not forget such a noble person.
