Parakram Diwas observed all over

As observed across the country, Parakram Diwas was also organised in the state on Sunday to commemorate the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Thoubal in collaboration with Salungpham Youth Association (SYA) observed Parakram Diwas at Salungpham, Thoubal, said a release issued by NYK Thoubal.
The birth anniversary observance began with floral tributes to a portrait of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and welcome address by K Lokendro Singh, DCAYP member, NYK Thoubal.
Resource person, Chitaranjan Singh spoke on the philosophy, teachings and life-history of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose while S Rishikanta Singh, president of SYA delivered a lecture on the history and significance of Indian National Army (INA) as the 1st army in the world to treat women equally with men with their Rani Jhansi Regiment troops fighting alongside the men soldiers.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by NYK Thoubal volunteers.
Similarly, NYK Chandel in collaboration with Thamlapokpi Village Authority and Youth Club also observed Parakram Diwas at Thamlapokpi village, Chandel, which was an actual battlefield of the Indian National Army.
The observation began with a welcome speech by LV Angsui, assistant village chief, Thamlapokpi.
Giving the keynote address, M Mercy Haokip, volunteer NYK Chandel spoke on the philosophy, achievements & life-history of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose as an example for youths of the nation, who as a great freedom fighter and leader of the INA inspired many citizens of Manipur to join the fight for freedom.
She also elaborated on how the INA with the Japanese Army first set foot on the soils of India in the hills of Manipur with Thamlapokpi village also being one of the battle sites, as it was used as a base-camp and field hospital.
Mercy Haokip also touched upon SVEEP-importance of ethical and informed voting in the upcoming State Assembly Elections and highlighted "Catch The Rain Campaign" of NYK Chandel.
Th Beshang, chief of Thamlapokpi village; Th Martin, Church secretary and Sk Shekarmong, village elder also spoke on the occasion.
They also mentioned two great heroes from Thamlapokpi village who had served in the INA- R Seninrai and Thakuri Kansa.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Seitinthang Haokip, volunteer NYK Chandel followed by a visit to the former campsite and field hospital.
Moreover, 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector AR/ IGAR (East) also observed Parakram Diwas by organising various events in Tamenglong district.
The events included a Covid awareness Walkathon in Tamenglong Town and Ujjala campaign in Tousem Sub-division, said a release issued by PIB Defence Wing.
Commandant, Tamenglong Battalion flagged off a first of its kind Covid awareness walkathon to spread the message of CAB and COVID-19 booster dose.
The Commandant also urged the youth to channelize their energy towards the upliftment of society, contribute to nation building and development.
