ADC poll: NPF objects counting of votes in Imphal

The Naga People's Front (NPF) Ukhrul division has expressed deep concern over the conduct of scrutiny of nomination papers for the forthcoming 5th ADC Election held at Imphal West on May 7 and termed it as a blatant disregard to laws.
NPF, Ukhrul division in a statement wondered as to why majority hill MLAs including HAC chairman, who are elected to protect Manipur tribal's interest and their land have remained mute under spell of Ibobi led Congress Govt.It also alleged that the ADC election 2015 intending candidates were subjected to stand in long queues and the reprehensible arrangements had caused great difficulties even to general public by way of traffic jam while some intending candidates were manhandled by State police and treated as goons.
It continued that the hill MLAs, majority of them represented by the Congress party, have been subjected to disciplining by way of party whip including the HAC chairman himself.
It added that this is the haughty Government policy of the Congress party since Manipur gained statehood in 1972.Time is now for all tribals of Manipur to come together to check the common adversary, it added.
"We have also received reports from reliable source that the ballot counting of the forthcoming ADC election could be held at Imphal citing law and order problem in the hills districts which is another clever scheme to cheat the tribals of Manipur," alleged NPF Ukhrul div.
It added that the NPF's party workers memory is still fresh when more than 30 to 35 EVMs were manipulated at CM Ibobi fortified Thoubal during the last MP election thereby entailing win for Congress party through deceptive manipulation.
