Angling to add taste to Sangai Fest

The All Manipur Angling Association (AMAA) has announced that an angling competition will be held as a part of the coming Sangai Festival 2018 .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, AMAA general secretary Dayananda Sharma said that the association will be organising the first ever angling competition in the State under the aegis of the Tourism Department during the festival.
The competition will be held at two venues.
The first competition will be held at Kangla outer moat (Northern and Western flank) on November 23 and the second competition will be held at Loktak Lake (Thanga) on November 28, he explained and appealed to all to take part in the event.
The entry fee for the competition is Rs 2000 and only 400 seats are available.
Interested parties can also register on-line for the competition, he added.
The AMAA general secretary continued that registration forms can be procured from Homen, Bait & Tackle, Thangal Bazar, Dhojo, Uripok Fishing and Tackle Wholesale and Retails Uripok, Subash Angling Shop, Singjamei and Imphal Fishing Tackle Store, Loklaobung as well as AMAA office at Dashi Complex, Mayengbam Leikai, Singjamei.
For the competition to be held at Kangla, the 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th lucky winners will be awarded Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively while those securing 5th to 10th position will be given Rs 5000 each.
On the other hand, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders in the competition at Loktak Lake will be awarded Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 while those securing 4th to 6th will be given Rs 5000 each, he said and added that citations will be included for all winners as well.
