98 positive in IW aggressive mass testing, takes tally to 684

Imphal, June 08 2021: A total of 98 fresh Covid cases were detected on the seventh day of the aggressive mass testing programme in Imphal West district.

With the addition of 98 cases out of the 1908 persons tested today, the total number of positive cases courtesy the mass testing programme is now 684 which include 360 males, 314 females and 10 minors.

Today's test were conducted at 15 venues/centres of which 4 centres namely Top Siphai Community Hall (89 persons), Irom Leikai Naharol Yaipha Lamjingkol Club (123 persons), Khonghampat Mayai Leikai community hall (119 persons) and Uripok Sorbon Thingel and Sinam Leikai Lainingthou Amudon community hall (198 persons) recorded no Covid positive case.

The other centres with number of persons tested and positive cases detected are: Takhellambam Konjil TYDC community hall (139 persons: 7 cases), Leikinthabi Shantipur Sporting Club (100 persons: 5 cases), Heibongpokpi community hall (120 persons: 1 case), Phayeng Don Bosco High School (188 persons: 10 cases), Khaidem Mayai Leikai Khaidem Loyalakpa community hall (184 persons: 10 cases), Sagoltongba Mamang Leikai Ima Nongdon Lairembi community hall (97 persons: 18 cases), Tera Sayang community hall (72 persons: 6 cases), Tera Sayang Usha Bhavan School (112 persons: 15 cases), Tera Sapam Leirak Youth Bright Star Club (113 persons: 4 cases), Singjamei Chirom Leikai YUTCO Club (91 persons: 8 cases) and Uripok Khwai Brahmapur Imphal Sporting Club community hall (163 persons: 14 cases).

So far 12,496 persons have been tested in various testing centres across Imphal West under the mass testing programme.
