Imphal, August 21 2009:
Manipur University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) has urged the University authority to extend the date of admission to the Ist semester of MA/ MCom/ MSc/M Lib and others in the interest of the students coming from hill districts who would lose their seats if the last date is not extended in view of the bandh, general strike and curfew.
In a statement, MUTSU president Pamei Tingenlung has also alleged that there is no uniformity in the admission process to the University and the head of the Departments of English and Education refused to verify the selected students.
The student body further pointed out that the internet Wi-fi facility installed in the University is not serving the purpose because of its sub-standard and lack of quality maintenance in the construction works ongoing on has been reflected in the leaking of the newly constricted hostels.
