Imphal, October 17:
The Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has drawn the attention of the State Government to pitiable condition of the vital National Highway 39.Noting that repeated appraisals to State authorities on the woeful road conditions had not been evoking desired response, SDSA in a statement issued today construed indifferent attitude of the Government as undermining interest and aspiration of the people.
It further opined that inspection visits by Minister concerned and departmental officials and subsequent assurances to take up appropriate measures is akin to mockery as no positive move had been initiated so far.
Further conveying that a recent inspection by SDSA executives literally stumbled upon large craters along the important route, the student body prevailed upon the Government to take serious note of frequent mishaps caused by bad conditions of the highway stretch and demanded that urgent steps be taken to ensure safe passage of the citizens apart from facilitating smooth supply of essential goods.
