As per the schedule of State Health Mission Society (SHMS) Manipur, the Ukhrul TD Block programme Management Unit of National Rural Health Mission organised a one day Reproductive & Child Health (RCH) medical camp yesterday at Litan Sareikhong in Ukhrul district.
Of the various medical sections put up during the camp, two of them�Aleopathy and Ayush� were led by Dr Ask Felix and Dr Pamlei Khayi respectively, while Ayurvedic and HIV Counselling & Testing sections were led by Dr Pamshang Paul and the teams of MACS, SATHII and ASOC, said a release issued by Ukhrul Block Finance Manager of NRHM S.Songachan.
Prominent cases like gastritis, piles, arthritis, sinusitis, backache, RTI, URTI, cataract, tonsillitis were found during the camp which was participated by around 200 patients from Litan and its surrounding villages like Leingangching, TM Kasom, Mongkot Chepu, Yaolen and Shangkai, of which 80 per cent were women and children, the release said.
Besides providing counselling to 14 pregnant women, HIV testing was also conducted upon them during the camp which was actively ushered by 8 ASHAs, it said adding that Ukrhul Block programme manager NRHM S.Wortharla expressed gratitude to all the doctors and paramedical staffs of MACS ICTC team from Ukhrul District Hospital, Action Against the HIV Infection in India and Agent for Social Change for marking the event with a grand success.
