Zero case reported in last 24 hrs since 1st wave in 2020

For the first time ever since the first wave of the of the global pandemic in Manipur in 2020, the State reported zero Covid cases in the last 24 hours coupled with zero deaths and discharged three persons from Home Isolation today.
Incidentally Manipur recorded its first Covid case on March 24, 2020 when a young girl who had returned from the UK tested positive for the virus.
The zero case is in sharp contrast to the rest of the country, particularly Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), which has seen a sharp spike in the last couple of days with the Delhi Government making mask compulsory again.
Altogether 227 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
The cumulative number of Covid positive cases and death remain unchanged at 137205 and 2120 respectively while the number of recovered cases has mounted to 1,35, 191.The number of active cases and recovery rate, on the other hand, are 26 and 98.44 per cent respectively.
As per the latest update from COVID-19 Common Control Room , 489 Covid beds are lying vacant at JNIMS (299) and RIMS (190) .
Yesterday, the State distributed 159 D type and 11 B-type oxygen cylinders to different health facilities in Manipur and administered 2711 Covid vaccine doses.
When it comes to vaccination, Kangpoki fares the worst as the district has fully vaccinated only 16.75 per cent of its population eligible for Covid vaccination while Kakching tops the chart at 67.21 per cent (2nd dose).
Manipur has fully vaccinated 51.09 per cent of its eligible population while another 61.64 per cent has received at least one dose.
