Imphal, February 07 2021:
A 60-year-old woman succumbed to COVID-19 even as the number of active cases fell below 100 mark in the last 24 hours.
The State has 99 active Covid cases.
The latest victim hailed from Imphal East and she died at Shija Hospital.
With this, the death toll due to the disease has reached 373 .
The total number of positive cases has reached 29,126 with 9 fresh infections in the last 24 hours.
The number of recovered cases has reached 28,654 with a recovery rate of 98.37 percent.
8334 frontline workers have been vaccinated so far.
78 persons were vaccinated today.
Meanwhile, the 9 fresh infections include 6 civilians and 3 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force.
They tested positive for Covid at testing facilities at Churachandpur (5), RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and Escent Diagnostics (1) .
The 6 civilians hail from Churachandpur (4), Imphal East (1) and Senapati (1), said Government COVID-19 Common Control Room.
On the other hand, 18 persons have recovered from the disease.
While 16 of them recovered under home isolation, the remaining two persons have been discharged from COVID-19 care centres of RIMS and CAPF (Central Armed Police Force), said the report issued by Additional Director (Health) Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
The cumulative number of Covid positive cases has reached 29,126 including 25,697 civilians and 3,429 Central security personnel.
The cumulative number of recovered cases is 28,654 including 25,239 civilians and 3,415 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is 99 including 89 civilians and 10 Central security personnel, said the report.
Meanwhile to speed up immunisation, the State Health Society has instructed officials concerned and hospitals to start routine immunisation programme and vaccination on working days.
