10th Manipur State League 2015 concludes AIM stun FC Zalen 1-0, win maiden title

Anouba Imagi Mangal (AIM), Khabam stunned Football Club Zalen, Sadar Hills to clinch their maiden title of the Manipur State League, sponsored by Khumukcham Ingocha Singh Memorial Trust, today at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium , Imphal.
The closing ceremony of the 10th MSL was graced by State Government Consultant Dr RK Nimai (Retd IAS), YAS director W Bhaktaraj and All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) president P Raghumani Singh as chief guest and president and guest of honour respectively.
In today's final match, after both teams failed to break the deadlock in the first half and the only and winning goal came in the 80th minute though L Dewan's header off a long pass from Th Santosh.

Earlier in the first half, FC Zalen got opportunities to take the lead but all their chances went abegging.
With today's win AIM, Khabam made history clinching the first State League title in 13 years.
Champions AIM, Khabam were awarded a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh along with a running trophy while runner up FC Zalen, Sadar Hills received a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh with a running trophy.
AIM were also awarded the fair play trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000 .
Defending champions NEROCA FC, Sangakpham bagged the top position title of the league round.
Nigerian striker Offor Emeka Christian of NEROCA FC (10 goals) clinched the highest scorer title while player of the tournament title went to Seikhohao Tuboi of FC Zalen.
Both the winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a running trophy each.
Spectators attack AIM players : Soon after the final match of the 10th MSL, spectators attacked AIM players with stones and water bottles causing injuries to AIM players.
The Imphal West SP also received a minor injury while he and his team were trying to control the situation.
