Naoriya Phulo birth anniversary celebrated

The 125th birth anniversary of Laininghan Naoriya Phulo was celebrated at Lamyanba Shanglen today.
Organised by Laininghan Naoriya Phulo Charitable Trust, the occasion was graced by Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) Chairman P Dhanachandra as chief guest.
Remembering the works and contributions of Naoriya Phulo, P Dhanachandra said that Manipur regained its lost cultural and spiritual identities and spiritual independence with the efforts of Naoriya Phulo.
He said that like Swami Vivekananda enlightened the masses with the doctrines of Hinduism, Naoriya Phulo taught the significance of Sanamahi religion or Meitei religion to the people of Manipur.
Laininghan Naoriya Phulo Charitable Trust Vice-President Kangabam Manibaddra, AMGSO Advisor N Tomba and Dr H Indrakumar of Modem College also attended the function.
A recitation competition based on the life and contributions of Naoriya Phulo was held in two categories � Open section and Class-Ill to Class XII section.
