Symposium on life and works of M Anandmohan held

A symposium on life and works of Mayengbam Anandmohan Singh, jointly organised by Sahitya Akademi and NG College, Imphal, was held today at the jubilee hall of the latter.
Devendra Kumar Devesh, Regional Secretary, Sahitya Akademi, ROK, Nongmaithem Kirankumar, Convenor, Manipur Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Lairenjam Manglemba, Principal, NG College Imphal and Ashok Roy Choudhury, Vice Principal, NG College Imphal attended the programme as the dignitaries.
At the event, N Kirankumar said that the contributions made by Mayengbam Anandmohan for the welfare and upliftment of the society through his books and other works during his lifetime are commendable.
Apart from being a notable writer, he also pioneered library movement in the State, Kirankumar added.
In the first session of the symposium, chaired by Mayengbam Akhyakumar, Seram Indrajit, Thounaojam Khomdon and Lamabam Gojendro spoke on the topics "Life and works of Mayengbam Anandmohan", "Anandmohan as a pioneer of library movement in Manipur" and "Anandmohan as a playwright" respectively.
The second session was chaired by Huirem Behari.
Topics such as "Anandmohan as a memoir writer", "Anandmohan as an essayist" and "Anandmohan as a teachers" were deliberated by Thokchom Ibohanbi, Heikrujam Shyamsunder and Longjam Joychandra.
