Noney, May 28 2025: In a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere, a grand opening ceremony of the Noney District Taekwondo Association was held on Wednesday at Tazei Public Higher Secondary School, Longmai Part-2, Noney district headquarters.

The event marked a significant step forward in promoting martial arts and fostering youth development in the region.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr Charaibou Daimai, principal of Tazei Public Higher Secondary School, who expressed his gratitude for the initiative and underscored the importance of sports and discipline in education.

Achung Kamei, technical director of the Noney District Taekwondo Association, reiterated the Association's commitment to nurturing local talent and providing young athletes with opportunities to compete at both state and national levels.

A highlight of the event was a dynamic Taekwondo demonstration led by Master Openson Phaomei, a 1st Dan Black Belt holder, and his team.

Their performance captivated the audience, showcasing the strength, agility, and discipline fundamental to the martial art.

Dimguang Rongmei, director of Tazei Public School, delivered an inspiring speech on the transformative power of martial arts in character development and youth empowerment.

He commended the Association's efforts in introducing structured training to the district.

Also speaking at the event was Poujailung Gonmei, vice president of the District Sports Association (DSA) Noney, who highlighted the journey of the Noney District Taekwondo Association and its long-term vision.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks from Adai Dangmei, chairman of the Tazei Local Board.

He acknowledged the collaborative efforts behind the successful inauguration and called for continued community support in advancing the Association's mission.

The event was attended by students, teachers, parents, local leaders, and sports enthusiasts, signalling the beginning of a promising chapter for martial arts in Noney district.
