25 boxers clinch gold on Day 5 of State Boxing Championships

Imphal, July 25 2025: As many as 25 gold medals were awarded across various categories on the fifth day of the State Level Boxing Championships 2025 at the Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

The finals witnessed intense showdowns as young and elite boxers from across the state battled it out for top honours.

In the elite men's category, four boxers clinched gold medals.

Tompok Thokchom Singh (TBL) outclassed Md Mujahid (KAK) with a 5-0 verdict in the 50 kg final.

Konjenbam Roshan Meitei (IW) edged out Laishram Romance Meitei (TBL) 3-2 in the 60 kg bout, while Thongam Lennison Meitei (IW) secured a 5-0 win over Okram Gung Singh (TBL) in the 65 kg division.

In the 70 kg category, Laishram Jackson Singh (IW) claimed a dominant 5-0 victory against Ningthoujam Borish Meitei (BPR).

The U19 men's division witnessed four intense matchups.

Chingrihor Shatsahang (UKL) prevailed 4-1 over Thokchom Thoiba Singh (TBL) in the 50 kg final, while Md Abdul Noor (IE) shut out Thingom Rishi Singh (BPR) 5-0 in the 55 kg bout.

Moirangthem Lang-mamba Meitei (IE) secured a close 3-2 victory against Choneirhoir Y Shimray (UKL) in the 60 kg category.

Rajkumar Yumkhaibam (IE) stopped Laishram Max Singh (TBL) in the first round (RSC) in the 66 kg final.

In the U19 women's division, Phuritshabam Renuka Devi (IW) edged out Sneha Thangjam Chanu (IE) 3-2 in the 48 kg final.

Loitongbam Bidya Devi (BPR) defeated Luwangleima Soram (IW) 4-1 in the 51 kg bout.

In the 54 kg final, Loitongbam Luxmi Devi (BPR) beat Ningombam Ripa Devi (IW) with a clean 5-0 score.

The U17 Girls' competition was particularly eventful with six gold medal matches.

Moirangthem Khrismira Devi (IW) outpointed Taniya Laishram (IE) 5-0 in the 46 kg division.

In the 48 kg category, Lamameilu Gangmei (IE) earned a convincing 5-0 win over Haojam Lanchenbi Devi (BPR) .

Saikhom Thoibicha Chanu (IW) claimed the 50 kg title by RSC in the third round against Riya Heikham (IE).

Amom Priyanka Chanu (IE) triumphed 5-0 over Maria Pame (TML) in the 52 kg final.

Phuritshabam Stelia Devi (TBL) also won via RSC in round three against Radhamani Longjam (IW) in the 57 kg category.

The 54 kg gold was claimed by Mangte Shumneijang Kom (CCP), who defeated Keisham Suchitra Devi (IE) 4-1 .

In the 60 kg final, Saikhom Bema Chanu (TBL) overcame Yumnam Kenita Devi (KAK) 3-2 in a close bout.

Among the U15 girls, five champions were declared.

Debika Choudhurimayum (IE) beat Chongtham Elinda Devi (BPR) 4-1 in the 40 kg final.

Ngangom Tarubi Chanu (IE) claimed a dominant 5-0 win over Maibam Apsharai Devi (TBL) in the 43 kg final.

In the 46 kg category, Pri yanka Nongmaithem (TBL) triumphed over Khumukcham Anamika Chanu (IE) 3-2 .

Lan-thing Rainam (UKL) won 5-0 against Yumnam Lannganbi Devi (KAK) in the 49 kg division, while Lairenjam Sujen Devi (IE) defeated Thingnam Malemnganbi Chanu (KAK) 5-0 in the 52 kg bout.

In the U15 Boys' 46 kg final, Akhom Bishojit Singh (IE) prevailed 3-2 over Pebam Joyhenba (IE) .
