Imphal, May 24 2026: TRAU, Kwakeithel kick-started their Group B campaign in the 4th MNCA Mens U-19 One Day Trophy with a 201-run victory over Sagolband United (SU) at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong.

Asked to bat first, TRAU erected a mammoth total of 274 runs before losing all the wickets in 39.3 overs thanks to a century knock from Ishorchandra Loithongjam before Mutum Swabhiman (5/8 in 8 overs) and Shivestan Sharma Gurumayum (3/22 in 4 overs) wreaked havoc across the SU line up and set up their collapse at 73 within 24.3 overs.

TRAU were struggling at 84/7 within 15.1 overs as Philan Rajkumar (3/45), Keisham Malemnganba (3/74) and Sagolshem Hemjit (2/47) inflicted early damage.

However, One down batter Ishorchandra, held his nerve and clobbered 12 fours and 8 sixes on the way to his 114-ball 155 .

From 84/7, Ishorchandra stitched 105 runs for the 8th wicket with Devraj Sorokhaibam (16 off 44 balls) before he found another partner in Preethson Arubam, who remained unbeaten on a 24-ball 34, to add 84 runs until RK Philan dismissed Ishorchandra for the 9th wicket in the 39th over.

In reply, TRAU started wobbly and slumped to 73 all out as Philan (18 off 30 balls), A Romen (14 off 18 balls), Keisham Malemnganba (13 off 10 balls) and Nongombam Ambedkar (12 off 19 balls) emerged as the double digit getters for the team.

Ishorchandra Loithongjam was adjudged man of the match for his batting heroics.

Other results

In a Group A match staged at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, SCCC, Singjamei Thongam beat Model Club, Singjamei Chingamakha by 2 wickets.

In a Group C match staged at Moijing Public Ground, YPHUC defeated RULE by 4 wickets.

Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, AMCA thumped KASC, Khomidok by 65 runs to open their Group E campaign on a winning note.
