MNCA Elite: CYCLONE, SCCC enjoy commanding victories

CYCLONE and SCCC recorded emphatic victories in Sunday's clashes of the 9th MNCA Elite Tournament 2024-25.CYCLONE asserted their dominance with a colossal 214-run victory over ESU in Thoubal.
Electing to bat first, CYCLONE amassed an imposing total of 319/6 in their 50 overs, propelled by a stellar century from Ningthoujam Thoiba (101).He was ably supported by Muhammed Al Bashid (74) and Nongthombam Denin (55'), with Loktongbam Santosh (36) and Abdul Kasim (18) contributing valuable cameos.
ESU's Chongtham Mehul Shreth (3 wickets) and Lourembam Dipu (2 wickets) toiled hard but struggled to contain the onslaught.
In reply, ESU's batting lineup crumbled under CYCLONE'S fiery bowling attack, collapsing to 102 all out in just 23.5 overs.
Kishan Laishram spearheaded the demolition with a sensational six-wicket haul, supported by Md Aqeel, Denin, Suraj Nong, and Santosh, who claimed a wicket each.
Only Hanjabam Donba Sharma (24) and Sanatomba (21) offered fleeting resistance in an otherwise dismal chase.
In the other match, SCCC delivered a clinical all-round performance to trounce KCC by 148 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Batting first, SCCC posted 221/9, anchored by Basant (41) and Moirangthem Thomas (39) .
Ulenyai Khwairakpam (26), Lishan Khaidem (25), and Khwairakpam Rinju (18) chipped in with handy contributions.
KCC's Tayenjam Tomba and Narneirakpam Arbin impressed with three wickets apiece, but failed to stem the flow of runs.
In defence of their total, SCCC's bowlers ran riot, skittling KCC for a paltry 73 in 25.2 overs.
Bikash starred with three scalps, while Lishan Khaidem, Rakeshwor Republic, and Khaidem Joyraj claimed two wickets each.
Moirangthem Thomas rounded off the rout with a solitary dismissal, sealing a comprehensive triumph for SCCC.
