Imphal, May 18 2025:
RCA booked their place in the final of 3rd MNCA Men's U-19 One Day Trophy with a resounding 93-run victory over YWC in Sunday's semifinal at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Opting to bat first, RCA posted a competitive total of 204/9 in their allotted 35 overs.
The innings was anchored by a stellar knock from Md Danish Khan, who top-scored with 72 runs off just 70 deliveries, including 4 boundaries and 5 sixes.
He was well-supported by Imran Khan, who contributed a patient 51 off 70 balls.
YWC's bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, though Yumnam Athouba stood out with an impressive spell of 7-2-17-3, including the key wickets of Md Anush and Helbokmayum Albaz Hussain.
However, erratic bowling from others allowed RCA to build momentum.
In reply, YWC faltered early and were bundled out for a mere 111 in 28 overs.
Only Sorokhaibam Thoungamba Singh offered resistance with a gritty 35 off 69 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup crumbled under pressure.
RCA's bowlers were disciplined, with Naesh Hussain (7-1-21-2) and Zamir Khan (7-0-25-2) leading the charge.
The fielding effort was equally sharp, with three run-outs and tight catching ensuring YWC never gained footing.
Farhan Ahmed and Zuned also chipped in with crucial wickets to wrap up the innings swiftly.
