Women's NFC: Manipur extend lead with win oxer Odisha

Imphal, December 14 2024: Defending champions Manipur strengthened their lead at the top of Group A with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Odisha in the final round of the 29th Senior Women's National Football Championship for the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy 2024-25 .

The match took place on Saturday at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama Ground in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh.

This win propelled Manipur to six points from two matches, solidifying their position as Group A leaders.

Both goals came in the second half, courtesy of Shilky Devi and Bibicha Devi.

In the 58th minute, Dang-mei Grace setup Shilky with a precise pass on the left, which Shilky converted with a composed finish, leaving Odisha goalkeeper Sasmita Parida unable to respond.

Grace continued her influential role, delivering another assist in the 78th minute.

From the edge of the box, she found Bibicha, who expertly placed her shot into the bottom corner, securing the victory for her team.

Manipur will next play Jharkhand on December 16, 2024 at 2:30 pm .
