Indian Army kick-starts 3rd Sepoy K Ashuli Naga Indigenous Wrestling C'ship

Indian Army today kick-started the 3rd edition of Sepoy K Ashuli, Vir Chakra (Posthumous) Naga Indigenous Wrestling Championship in Senapati today.
The district level junior championship will conclude on October 16 .
The event aims to promote traditional sports, preserve Naga cultural heritage, and foster unity and camaraderie among the youth of the region.
The competition held in honour of Kargil War martyr from Makhan Centre in Senapati district, is open to male participants aged 10 to 20 years across three weight categories under 55 kg, 55-65 kg and above 65 kg, said a statement issued by PIB.
The event seeks to identify and nurture emerging talent in Naga Indigenous Wrestling, providing a platform that promotes sportsmanship, discipline, and cultural pride, it said.
The championship has drawn enthusiastic participation and large crowds, transforming the event into a vibrant celebration of sport, culture, and community spirit.
