Imphal, August 11 2025: Manipur Football Club (MFC), Pune, has formally inaugurated its Academy at the Force Playing Fields, Pune, in Maharashtra on Sunday.

As per a release, over 25 boys and girls of various age groups attended launch of the academy, aimed at nurturing football talent from beginners to advanced players.

Founded on October 7, 2015, MFC began with the goal of uniting football lovers from Manipur - a state renowned for producing some of India's finest players - and has since expanded to welcome football enthusiasts from across the country, it added.

"From the very beginning, MFC has been about more than just football - it's about community, pride, and opportunity.

Our aim has always been to nurture talent and give players a platform to shine," MFC founding member Sanjoy Yurembam said.

The release also stated that launch of the MFC Pune Academy was made possible through the unwavering support of MFC's members and well-wishers, including Arjuna and Padma Shri awardees, and India football team former captain Oinam Bembem Devi, an Indian actor, FC Goa assistant coach and former international player Gouramangi Singh Moirangthem, and internationals Boris Singh Thangjam and Udanta Singh Kumam of FC Goa, and Chinglensana Singh Konsham of Bengaluru FC .
