Pratik Dahal wins bronze at South Asian Youth C'ship

Imphal, July 08 2025: The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) has congratulated Pratik Dahal for winning a bronze medal at the 1st Youth South Asian Karate Cup 2025, held on July 5-6 at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium, Colombo.

Representing India in the U-14 male individual Ku-mite -50 kg category, Pratik delivered an impressive performance that earned him a podium finish on the international stage.

His achievement has brought pride not only to the nation, but especially to Manipur and the Gorkha community, AMGSU said in a press release.

A resident of Leimakhong Bazar, Pratik comes from a modest background.

Despite limited means, his hard work and dedication have seen him rise to international success.

He is currently a student at The Froebel English School, Kanglatongbi.

Upon his return, AMGSU members, led by games and sports secretary Rajen Thapa, welcomed him at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport.

His parents and school staff also joined in celebrating the achievement.

AMGSU has urged the state government and relevant authorities to extend academic and financial support to help nurture Pratik's talent further.

The union also expressed gratitude to his coach and manager for their guidance.
