FC Imphal beat MPSC to clinch WFL 2024-25 title

Imphal, June 29 2025: FC Imphal were crowned champions of the 15th AMFA Senior Women's Football League 2024-25 after a commanding 2-0 win over MPSC at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, on Sunday.

Throughout their campaign, FC Imphal secured six wins in 10 matches, alongside three draws and a single defeat.

They finished at the summit of the table with 21 points, capping off a triumphant season with the championship honours.

Thongam Reshma was the standout performer in FC Imphal's decisive win over MPSC.

She broke the deadlock in the 17th minute and added a second just seven minutes later.

Despite MPSC's determined efforts to mount a comeback after half-time, FC Imphal's steadfast defence held firm, sealing a well-deserved victory and a memorable title triumph.

MPSC finished as runners-up with 18 points from their 10 matches, while Youth Welfare Club completed the top three with 15 points.

In the day's other fixture, Young Welfare Club comfortably dispatched ESU 3-0, courtesy of a brace from Wairokpam Daina Chanu.

Daina opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Chingangbam Binomala doubled the advantage in the 21st, giving YWC a commanding 2-0 lead at the interval.

After the break, Daina struck again in the 74th minute to wrap up a dominant 3-0 victory.

With this result, Young Welfare Club secured fourth place with 13 points, followed by ESU (12 points) in fifth and Manipur United FA (3 points) in sixth.
