CHAMP, MPSC, RULE and KCC notched up victories in Saturday's league matches of the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2024-25.KCC defended a modest total against AKSDO, winning by 13 runs at Lairenjam Public Ground.
KCC, opting to bat first, found themselves in early trouble, losing opener Keisham Mranojit Singh for a golden duck.
However, Ningombam Tony Singh (26 off 33) and Wahengbam Somorjit Singh (27 off 28) steadied the innings before captain Keisham Basantakumar Singh (23* off 16) provided a late flourish to take KCC to 110/6.AKSDO's Saikhom Kaiku Meetei was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3/13 in his four overs.
In reply, AKSDO's chase was derailed early by KCC's disciplined bowling.
Despite Chinglensana Moirangthem's patient 34 (retired hurt), the middle order crumbled under pressure.
Wahengbam Somorjit Singh (2/11) and Keisham Basantakumar Singh (2/24) ensured KCC defended their total comfortably, restricting AKSDO to 97/6.MPSC outplayed BLUE HAWK by 25 runs in their meeting at Khudeiband Lampak.
MPSC's top order fired on all cylinders as they posted an imposing 133/3 in just 15 overs.
Potsangbam Bonem Singh was the standout performer, smashing 52 off 34 balls (5 fours, 3 sixes), while Soubam Kingson Singh remained unbeaten on 46 (31).The 98-run partnership between Bonem Singh and Kingson Singh set the platform for MPSC's dominance.
BLUE HAWK's bowlers struggled to contain the onslaught, with Wakambam Samson Singh (1/35) proving expensive.
Chasing 134, BLUE HAWK lost wickets at regular intervals.
Despite a valiant 27 from Ningombam Jackiechan Singh, the target proved too steep.
MPSC's Md Farijuddin f2/12) and Dinam Rojit Singh (2/22) kept the pressure on, ensuring BLUE HAWK fell short at 108/6.At Moijing Public Ground, RCA dominated CHAMP by 33 runs.
RCA's innings was a rollercoaster, with Md Alfash (37 off 34) and Naesh Hussain (28 off 13) providing the fireworks.
CHAMP's Keisham Kennedy (4/29) and Mohd Ahsanul Kabir (3/25) kept RCA in check, but late blows from MD Danish Khan (18 off 7) took RCA to 150/9 in 17 overs.
CHAMP's chase started brightly with Yumnam Karnajit (21 off 12), but Samir's lone fight (42 off 27) wasn't enough.
