Jadonang football tournament in October

The new office of the Zeliangrong Football Association (ZFA) was inaugurated on Monday by MLA Nungba and HAC chairman Dinganglung (Dipu) Gangmei, who is also the chairman of the Organising Committee for the forthcoming Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament 2025.The event was attended by Athai Kamei, acting president of the Zeliangrong Union (AMN), and Aguilung Gangmei, president of the ZFA .
Coinciding with the inauguration, the ZFA officially announced the 14th edition of the Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament 2025, scheduled to commence in the first week of October.
The tournament is open exclusively to teams from the Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei/Kabui, and Puimei communities residing in the states of Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland.
This year's tournament promises a host of awards and incentives.
The winning team will take home a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a trophy, while the runners-up will receive Rs 1 lakh and a trophy.
Additional awards include Rs 20,000 each for the best disciplined team and best march past/parade team.
Individual accolades for best player, best goalkeeper, and top scorer will each be honoured with Rs 10,000 and a commemorative cup.
Entry forms for the tournament will be made available from the first week of September at the ZFA office.
The entry fee is Rs 1,000, and the registration fee is set at Rs 5,000 per team, according to a press release from the organisers.
