SKYC, SSYC in 18th Sawombung football tourney semifinals

Imphal, July 18 2025: SKYC Kabui Khunjao and SSYC Sawombung Sairem secured their places in the semifinals of the 18th Inter Sawombung Invitation Football Tournament 2025, organised by the Sawombung Students' Club, after impressive victories in Friday's quarterfinals at SSC Playground.

In the first quarterfinal, SKYC dominated SD Milan FC Pungdongbam with a commanding 4-0 win, thanks to a sensational performance by Langmei Pougang, who scored all four goals.

Pougang opened the scoring in the 12th minute, giving SKYC an early lead.

He then went on to net three more goals in quick succession - in the 39th, 41st, and 58th minutes - sealing a comprehensive victory for his side.

Meanwhile, SSYC triumphed 2-0 over Sunday FC Sawombung Khunjao to book their spot in the last four.

The match was decided early on by Palmei Karangangpou, who struck twice in the 11th minute, securing SSYC's progression with a decisive performance.
