Imphal, May 18 2025:
KIYC produced a stunning late flurry to secure a commanding 3-0 victory over NISA in a thrilling Group B clash of the 2nd Premier League, played at the Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, on Sunday.
What had been a tightly contested affair, with both sides struggling to break the deadlock, suddenly burst into life in the closing stages.
Just as the match seemed destined for a stalemate, Wunganing R Shimray sparked the breakthrough in the 86th minute, capitalising on a defensive lapse to slot home and finally break NISA's resistance.
With momentum firmly on their side, KIYC pressed aggressively in stoppage time, and their persistence paid off handsomely.
Yumnam Monis Singh added a second in the 94th minute, finishing coolly after a swift counter-attack, before Sakil Ahmad put the result beyond doubt with a third in the 95th minute, rounding off a ruthless late display that left NISA stunned.
In the day's other fixture, ABA and AMOFA battled to a goalless draw in a fiercely contested Group A encounter.
Despite moments of promise from both sides, neither could find a decisive touch in a match defined by resolute defending and midfield grit.
