ASUFII, SFC to face off in Manoranjan football final

Imphal, February 15 2025: ASUFII and SFC Salam triumphed in their semifinal fixtures on Saturday, setting up an eagerly anticipated final showdown in the 15th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF Football Tournament 2024-25 .

ASUFII sealed their place in the final with a commanding 3-1 victory over Juvenile.

Eloziio Kayina opened the scoring early, slotting home in the 9th minute to give his side the advantage.

So-rormi doubled the lead with a composed finish six minutes before halftime, while Suraj sealed ASUFII's dominance with a third goal in the 79th minute.

Juvenile's Swami-chandra netted a late consolation in the 86th minute, but ASUFII held firm to secure their spot in the title decider.

The second semifinal saw SFC Salam deliver a clinical second-half performance to overpower Pathap 3-0 .

After a goalless first half, S Dhiren broke the deadlock in the 67th minute, sparking a flurry of goals.

W Alex swiftly added a second in the 72nd minute, before T Donaldo coolly converted a penalty just a minute later to cap off a seven-minute spell.

Pathap offered little resistance as SFC Salam cruised into the final with ease.

The two sides will now face off in the tournament's grand finale on February 17, 2025 at 12:30 pm, hosted by the Central Reserve Police Force.

Fans can expect a thrilling contest as ASUFII and SFC Salam vie for glory in one of Manipur's prestigious football competitions.
