MNCA Men's U-23: PTRC, PCC script contrasting wins

The 2nd MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 witnessed two thrilling encounters on Tuesday, with one of the matches going down to the wire.
In the first match, PTRC emerged victorious against CYCLONE in a high-scoring contest at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III, Cherapur.
PTRC won the toss and opted to field, restricting CYCLONE to 286/8 in their 40 overs.
N Sidarth was the standout performer for CYCLONE, scoring a blistering 103 off just 55 balls, including 13 fours and 6 sixes.
Thomson Moirangthem also contributed with a solid 78, while Binson Laithangbam added 30 .
In response, PTRC chased down the target with ease, thanks to a sensational knock by Jotin Singh Pheiroijam, who smashed 187 off 91 balls, including 25 fours and 10 sixes.
His explosive innings guided PTRC to 288/4 in just 35.2 overs, securing a 6-wicket win.
Laitonjam James Singh was the pick of the bowlers for CYCLONE, taking 3 wickets for 56 runs.
The second match saw PCC narrowly defeat AKSDO by 3 runs at Khudelband Lampak, Taothong (Lamshang), Imphal.
PCC won the toss and chose to bat, posting a competitive total of 236/10 in their 40 overs.
Boocker Kangujam was the star with the bat, scoring a quickfire 62 off 38 balls, including 4 fours and 5 sixes.
Bobby Meitei Khangembam also chipped in with a steady 37 .
In reply, AKSDO fought hard but fell just short, finishing at 233/10 in their 40 overs.
Akash Laishram topscored with 86 off 63 balls, but it wasn't enough to take his team over the line.
Lucky Thokchom was the hero with the ball for PCC, taking 3 crucial wickets for 47 runs.
Boocker Kangujam also contributed with 2 wickets for 34 runs.
