Bunny Singh's gold-medal performance marks a significant achievement for Manipur in the competition.
In boxing, the state pugilists continued their strong run, with three competitors securing spots in the quarterfinals.
Gunshalu Khumba (girls' bantamweight), Rad-hamani Longjam (girls' featherweight), and Prabin Naorem (boys' welterweight) all triumphed in their respective bouts, keeping alive Manipur's hopes for more medals.
Manipur's sole tennis representative, Shanker Heisnam, stormed into the quarterfinals with a dominant straight-sets victory (6-0, 6-2) over Mizoram.
His next challenge will be against Punjab, as he aims to claim a podium finish.
The Manipur boys' hockey team concluded their group stage with a hard-fought 4-4 draw against table-toppers Haryana.
Despite a spirited performance, the team fell short of qualifying for the semifinals.
In badminton, Hemam Malemnganba Singh made light work of his opponent from Uttar Pradesh, securing a 2-0 (21-15,21-13) victory to book his place in the quarterfinals.
