Imphal, August 06 2025: Manipur Hockey capped off a stellar campaign at the 15th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship (Division B) in style, sealing a 3-1 triumph over Assam Hockey in their final league encounter on Wednesday.

The result confirmed their place at the summit of Pool A, earning them a coveted promotion to Division A for next season.

The match itself was a testament to Manipur's resilience and attacking flair.

After falling behind to an early strike from Assam's Ashmita Tigga in the 20th minute, the side responded emphatically.

Mutum Priya restored parity in the 26th minute, slotting home with precision to level the score.

The turnaround was swift and decisive.

Just 60 seconds later, Kangjam Silvia Chanu fired Manipur into the lead with a clinical finish, shifting the momentum firmly in her side's favour.

She then put the result beyond doubt in the 49th minute, doubling her tally and securing a 31 victory - a fitting conclusion to a dominant campaign.

With this win, Manipur not only maintained their unbeaten run but also showcased their readiness for the challenges of Division A hockey.
