Imphal, July 28 2025: Manipur have advanced to the final of the Junior Boys' National Football Championship for Dr BC Roy Trophy 2025-26 underway in Amritsar, Punjab, after edging out Delhi 7-6 in penalty shootout in Monday's semi-final clash.

The match went to the shootout with the score tied at 2-2 after Manipur rallied from a two-goal deficit in normal period.

Lalvohbika opened the Delhi score in the 21st minute as Sheikh Faizan Hanief (26th) doubled the lead.

However, Yumnam Sonamani's brace in the 43rd and 70th minute ensured Manipur remain in the contest.

Manipur were reduced to 10 men after defender Hamid Ahmed was given the marching order in the 101st minute of the match having received the first yellow card in the 32nd minute.

In penalty shootout, Manipur players held their nerves to beat Delhi 5-4 and seal their berth in the summit clash where they will take on West Bengal on July 30 .
