T-20: CHAMP thump TCMDC, CYCLONE outclass AKSDO

CHAMP and CYLCONE secured convincing wins, while two other matches were abandoned in Wednesday's fixtures of the 5th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2024-25.CHAMP made light work of TCMDC with a 9-wickets triumph in their encounter at Model Hr Secondary & Oriental College Ground.
Opting to field first after winning the toss, CHAMP'S bowlers dismantled TCMDC for a meagre 73 runs in 16.2 overs.
Md Sultan Karim and Mohd Ahsanul Kabir were the standout performers, each claiming three wickets, while Keisham Kennedy chipped in with two.
TCMDC's innings never gained momentum, with only Suraj Kharibam (16) and Laishram Vivekananda Singh (14) reaching double figures.
In reply, CHAMP chased down the target effortlessly, finishing at 74/1 in just 9.3 overs.
Yumnam Kamajit led the charge with an unbeaten 44 off 29 balls, supported by Nawaz (19) .
CYCLONE outclassed AKSDO by 51 runs at Khudelband Lampak.
Batting first, CYCLONE posted a competitive 155/6 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant 84 off 59 balls by Muhammed Al Bashid.
Akash Laishram (36 off 13) provided a fiery cameo, smashing four sixes, while Thomson Moirangthem (28 off 21) added valuable runs.
AKSDO's Akash Laishram shone with the ball, taking three wickets for just nine runs.
In response, AKSDO faltered, bowled out for 104 in 18 overs.
Despite Saikhom Kaiku Meetei's 30 and a blistering 36 off 13 from Akash Laishram, the team collapsed under pressure.
CYCLONE's Nongthombam Denin and Kishan Laishram shared five wickets between them, sealing a decisive victory.
Meanwhile, the match between TRAU and BLUE HAWK was abandoned as rain played spoilsport.
TRAU opted to bat and posted 114/1 in 11.3 overs, thanks to a blistering 48 off 20 balls by Pukhrambam Pratullomani Singh.
However, rain halted play, and the match was called off without BLUE HAWK beginning their innings.
RULE and PTRC settled for a point each after their match was called off due to rain.
RULE were 7/0 in just 1.3 overs when rain intervened.
With no further play possible, both teams shared the points.
