Imphal, January 28 2015: Manipur weightlifting players who won the overall team champion title in the 10th National Youth (Sub-Junior Boys and Girls) Weightlifting Championship held on January 16 as well as in the 27th Women's National Junior Weightlifting Championship held from January 20 to 23 at Yamuna Nagar, Haryana were felicitated during a reception function hosted in their honour at the meeting hall of Manipur Olympic Association at Khuman Lampak Sports complex here on Wednesday.

In the Junior Women's National Weightlifting Championship, Manipur team secured in all 677 points to emerge the overall team champion while in the 10th National Youth Weightlifting Championship, Manipur boys secured 445 points and won the runners' up champion trophy but the Manipur girls brought home the champion trophy by securing in all 802 points.

In the competition for the Youth girls, K Ormila won bronze medal in 44 kg, M Purnima won silver medal in 53 kg, Kh Nungsiton won gold medal in 58 kg, Kh Sarjubala won silver medal in 63 kg, K Roshilata Devi won silver medal in 69 kg, G Roshni Chanu won bronze medal in 69 kg, A Tumina Devi won gold medal in plus 69 kg and A Anju Devi won bronze medal in plus 69 kg, while in the Youth boys, L Sunderjit Singh won silver medal in 69 kg, G Chittaranjan Sharma won another silver in 77 kg and M Johnson won bronze medal in plus 94 kg category competition.

Sepak Takraw players feted: Manipur Sepak Takraw players and medal winners who participated in the 17th Sub-Junior National Sepak Takraw Championship-2015 organised by Andhra Pradesh Sepak Takraw Association from January 11 to 14 at Kurnool were felicitated by the Adhoc Committee Sepak Takraw, Manipur at Khuman Lampak Sports complex on Wednesday.

On the other hand, the Yoga Physique Institute and Studies, Manipur hosted a reception function in honour of the players who won medals at the various National, Eastern India, State and District level competitions at its training centre cum hostel located at Uripok Yambem Leikai on Wednesday.
