Classic FA thrash Jamshedpur FC to solidify second place in RFDL

Classic FA staged a second-half surge to secure a resounding 3-0 victory over Jamshedpur FC in the Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) Northeast Zonal Round at Wahiajer Multipurpose Sports Complex Stadium, Meghalaya, maintaining their grip on second place in the group standings.
The opening 45 minutes saw both sides locked in a tightly contested goalless stalemate, with neither able to break through a disciplined defence.
However, the match burst into life after the interval as Classic FA turned on the style.
Bharat Lairenjam ignited the charge by breaking the deadlock in the 49th minute, slotting home to give his side the lead.
Paonam Govin Singh then doubled the advantage with a clinical finish in the 80th minute, before Md Arbash put the result beyond doubt by adding a third in the first minute of stoppage time, capping off a dominant display.
With the result, Classic FA strengthened their hold on second place in the Northeast Group with 16 points from eight matches, four adrift of leaders Northeast United FC (20 points from eight games) .
Aizawl FC sit third with 12 points from nine fixtures, while Jamshedpur FC remain fourth (10 points).
Rounding out the table are Mizoram Youth Football Foundation (7 points from nine matches) and Shillong Lajong FC, who prop up the group with six points from eight outings.
